Statement

p404 / p405’s title refers to the page location where the painted work emerges from the ordered text. This recent piece of work focuses upon the very material characteristic of paint rather than painting’s propensity to narrate, portray or illustrate. Textual theory historically interferes, interprets or diverts the painted idea. Here the formality of text is interrupted by the material protrusion of the canvas.
